JournalsbyKarl

Privacy notice

This notice explains what we collect when you take the JournalsbyKarl journal quiz, why, and the choices you have. The quiz is used all over the world, so we follow consent-based standards modelled on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for everyone, wherever they live.

Who we are

JournalsbyKarl, the guided journal brand of Dr. Karl Palma, is responsible for your data. Contact us through our contact form, mentioning JournalsbyKarl.

What we collect

We do not ask for your address or phone number unless you win and choose to claim your prize.

Why we use it

We never sell your data and never share it with other brands.

Who helps us

Your entry is stored in our Google account (Google Forms and Google Sheets) and your result email is sent through Gmail. The quiz website is hosted by Vercel. These services may store data on servers outside your country, and we use them only to run the quiz and the draw.

How long we keep it

Your draw entry lasts 12 months after you last take the quiz. If you agreed to our letters, we keep your name and email on our mailing list until you unsubscribe, even after your draw entry ends. If you did not agree, we only use your details for the draw and never send you letters. If you unsubscribe, you leave the draw and receive no more emails. Ask us and we will delete your details within 30 days. We keep a short record of each draw result (the winner's name and email) for two years so the draw can be checked.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. For anything else, write to us through our contact form and we will reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our reply, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Cookies

The quiz does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your answers are kept in your own browser until you finish, so a refresh does not lose them.
